Some Downtime

The blog experienced a bit of downtime today due to a software problem. When bringing everything back up, things seemed worse however. My personal wiki kept serving me blank pages, and this blog kept saying it wasn’t installed.
After some searching I discovered the issue for DokuWiki, somehow blank pages ended up in the cache. Clearing out the cache folder fixed the problem.
As for the blog, apparently the table wp_options was locked when everything broke, and never released the lock anymore, making Wordpress choke on it. A table repair in MySQL fixed that problem.
My apologies to readers out there who tried visiting the site. Just when my visitor count starts building up, something bad happens, for the first time in years. Typical Murphy!
